Meet Dr. Guben

Dr. Jason Guben holds a B.Sc. (Nursing) from McGill University (1991) and a Doctorate of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (1995).

He worked in nursing for Info-Santé between 1997 and 2003. From 1995 until today Dr. Guben has served the community by maintaining a private chiropractic practice in the West Island. His clinical interests lie in treating musculoskeletal pain.

Dr. Guben treats patients with acute, sub-acute and chronic conditions. The majority of his practice consists of low back pain(75%), neck pain(15%) and joint problems – elbows, shoulder and knees(15%). Dr. Guben is also interested in preventing musculoskeletal injuries at the workplace – giving seminars on ergonomics and sitting positions for sedentary workers with very positive feedback since 1998.

Clinical approach

All patients are given a neurological, orthopedic and chiropractic exam in order to assess nerve, joint and muscle functioning. Patients are given a defined plan of management.

Treatments focus on restoring the function of muscles and joints using a variety of manual therapy techniques including spinal manipulation.

Dr. Guben also uses physical therapy modalities such as interferential current, muscle stimulation and ultrasound. The unit used to provide these modalities is portable. The chiropractic treatment table is portable as well.

Coverage and Method of Payment

Chiropractic care is covered by most private insurance policies. CSST and RAAQ cover chiropractic with a medical referral.
